Switching banks might sound like a job for a rainy Sunday, but Lloyds has dropped an offer that makes the faff worth it.

Lloyds Bank switch deal: grab £250 plus Disney Plus for free

Move your current account over to Club Lloyds, and they’ll chuck £250 into your bank.

On top of that, you get to pick a yearly reward, with Disney Plus Standard With Ads for 12 months being the one most households will choose.

Get a free £10 bonus with Swagbucks

Earn a bit of extra money in your spare time with surveys, videos, and simple tasks you can do at home.

New users can get a £10 bonus when they sign up.

Get the £10 bonus

Less money spent on streaming, more in your pocket.

Here’s what you need to know so you don’t miss out.

What Lloyds is handing out

The bank gives you £250 once your switch goes through. You don’t need to stay for years, change how you spend or jump through hoops forever. Hit the rules and the cash drops in as promised.

The money usually arrives about ten working days after the switch finishes. Switches take around a week, so you’re looking at two to three weeks in real life before the cash shows up.

When the offer runs

You have from 6 January to 3 February 2026 to open the account and start your switch. Try it after that, and you’ll be left shaking your head.

These deals can vanish early if the bank gets bored of giving money away, so don’t leave it to the last minute.

Which Lloyds accounts count

You can’t swing in with any old account. It must be one of these:

  • Club Lloyds
  • Club Lloyds Silver
  • Club Lloyds Platinum

All have a £5 monthly Club fee, but there’s a handy workaround.

Pay £2,000 a month into the account, let it show on your statement, and that fee is wiped away. Most people just move the money in, then out again.

Silver and Platinum include things like travel insurance, phone cover and breakdown help.

Only bother with those if you’d genuinely use them. Paying for extras you never claim is like leaving a window open with the heating on.

Who gets the £250 (and who doesn’t)

To get the cash, you must:

  • Open a brand new Club Lloyds, Silver or Platinum account
  • Use the Current Account Switch Service
  • Move three active direct debits
  • Fully close your old bank
  • Not be switching from Lloyds, Halifax or Bank of Scotland
  • Not have had a switching bonus from any of those since 1 January 2023

If you miss any one of those, no cash. You can read the full Lloyds Bank switch rules if you want the fine print. Also, only one payout per person, and joint accounts don’t double it.

Already bank with Lloyds

You might still be able to join in.

If you don’t have a Club Lloyds account right now, you can open one and switch into that. If you already have a Club Lloyds, you’ll need to downgrade or close it first, then apply again fresh.

Just double check what perks you’ll lose, because Lloyds won’t send you a care package for your trouble.

Which Club Lloyds account is best

For most of us, the standard Club Lloyds account is the sensible one.

Pay the £2,000 in each month and it’s free to run.
Pick your yearly reward.
Get access to the Club Lloyds regular saver if you want to put a little aside.

Silver and Platinum make sense only if you already spend proper money on insurance and don’t want to shop around. Otherwise, stick with the basic and keep your cash for your own family.

What the Disney Plus perk actually is

It’s Disney Plus Standard With Ads for 12 months.

Good to know:

  • It’s one reward per year, not every month
  • If you already have Disney Plus, cancel it and switch to the Lloyds benefit so you’re not double-paying
  • You can pick cinema tickets or other treats if you prefer
  • On top of that, you get to pick a yearly reward (see the Club Lloyds annual reward choice)

Not the fancy top tier, but still a big saving on something many of us buy anyway.

How to handle the direct debit headache

You need three active direct debits, and some people only have one or two.

Easy fillers include:

  • A small monthly charity donation
  • A cheap subscription
  • A savings app or service that pulls a couple of quid each month

Once they show as active with Lloyds after the switch, you’ve done your bit.

Should you bother switching

Most likely yes.

You’re swapping bank details and shifting a few direct debits for £250 and a free year of telly. In a cost of living crunch, that is money you don’t want to leave on the table.

There are times when other banks pay more, so if you enjoy this game, keep an eye on other offers. For now though, this one’s right up there.

Skint Dad says:

If a bank wants to hand over cash for moving your wages across, you don’t need a spreadsheet to work out it’s worth a go.

The final word

This deal is simple. Open the right account. Switch properly. Make sure three direct debits move with you. Job done.

If council tax or school dinners don’t blink during the switch, you’re laughing. The £250 is yours to plug a bill, buy a shop, or top up your emergency pot.

And if the Disney Plus perk ends up with kids watching Frozen on a loop, well, at least you’re not paying for it.
